A movie made about the Musana story has collected an award ahead of its premiere this week.
‘Finding Musana’ tells the story of how lives are being transformed in Uganda and how a new way of thinking is impacting communities. A fresh business approach where social enterprises generate funds has caught the attention of movie makers and the film is proving popular since its release.
Since its launch, Finding Musana collected the audience choice award at the Sedona International Film Festival and was also showcased at the esteemed Pan African (PAFF) and Flickers’ Rhode Island film festivals.

The movie will premiere on TV on March 21 via TBN.
The hour-long documentary chronicles the journey of Musana founders Haril and Andrea Kazindra, who witnessed firsthand how traditional fundraising and charity methods can lead to dependency and exploitation.
Andrea, a student visitor to Uganda from Denver, Colorado, met Ugandan-born Haril, and as well as falling in love, the couple started an innovative model that challenges conventional views on poverty relief.
Finding Musana serves as a poignant reminder of the power of community-driven solutions in addressing systemic challenges. Its success on the international film festival stage not only highlights the quality of its production but also amplifies the critical conversations surrounding sustainable development and local ownership in poverty alleviation efforts.
