THE TRIP

This is not a holiday or sight-seeing trip. It is a start line.

Run for Change asks you to stretch and challenge yourself.
You will get out of it what you put in.

Challenge One

FUNDRAISE

Daunting on day one, addictive by week three. Every participant raises at least A$10,000. You will be supported every step of the way with resources, ideas, incentives, collateral, tips and tricks for you to achieve and exceed your goal.
Challenge Two

RUN

Train hard. Run hard. Experience the reward. With plenty of time to prepare, you’ll complete a run (or walk) that is a challenge for you – with 5km, 10km, half and full marathon options in both Kenya and Uganda, you’ve got plenty to choose from! This is your fundraising hook!

CHANGE

The fundraising, training & preparation process begins the transformative journey. Days on the ground with the Musana family, plus a personal and leadership development course creates change that lasts on the inside. Growing the mind, heart, spirit with practical application – if you let it, this trip will mark you for good.

Build Today, Impact Generations

Musana’s vision is to see the world free from dependency and full of dignity. The kilometres you run and funds you raise will support underserved communities by providing access to high quality and affordable education, healthcare and create employment opportunities and sustainable enterprises that are locally-led and run.

These communities are then able to support their own vulnerable peoples through scholarships and subsidised or free healthcare.

RFC27 will have a focus on the expansion of Musana Turbo, Kenya: Taking the school from 300 students to 1000 students, building a hospital for the community and increasing employment opportunities for the local community. With affordable healthcare, a growing school and more jobs, the community flourishes.

We’ll also contribute to the highschool builds in Budaka and Mayuge, Uganda.

Musana Nursery & Primary School, Turbo – Kenya

Increasing the capacity of Musana Turbo with upgraded and expanded classrooms, boarding facilities and learning resources – quality, affordable education for up to 1,000 students in the community.

Musana Community Hospital, Turbo, Kenya

Build a hospital that provides accessible healthcare for the community – raising the bar for life-saving care, eliminating travel barriers, and ensuring reliable, high-quality services for lasting community health.

Employment Opportunities

As the school and hospital grow, so does the need for local staff – teachers, doctors, administrators, nurses, cleaners, physicians and therapists, bus drivers – the list goes on – providing normal, dignified employment for many in the community.

Musana Vocational High Schools, Mayuge and Budaka, Uganda

High schools in the two newest communities in Uganda, expanding access to quality secondary education and pathways to tertiary studies and employment.

Participant Fees are separate to fundraising – that way all the money you raise goes to Musana communities in East Africa. Participation Fees are payable in instalments, with the final payment falling due April 30th 2027.

Worth Knowing

Your participation fee covers your participant kit, accommodation, all meals and non-alcoholic drinks, internal travel and training while in-country. You won’t need to pay for anything outside of personal supplies and gift shopping. Plus there’s plenty of perks and surprises along the way!

International flights are not included. You will need to arrange these, or you can choose to be part of a group booking. Arrival is into Entebbe, Uganda, and departure is from Nairobi, Kenya.

Visas and vaccinations are yours to organise. We will send you the checklist, relevant links and guidelines, but they’re yours to get. You will also need to have the relevant background check, Disclosure and Barring Service or Working with Children Check for your country of origin.

The participation fee is not tax deductible as a donation, though some businesses may treat it as deductible development costs. Check with your tax accountant/advisor.
